Hi folks,

Looking for some advice…

Just got my hands on a nice 2007 E70 X5. The previous owner had installed 2 Necvox LCD screens in the front headrests and a CKO 6 disc DVD autochanger in the boot. I'd like to get rid of the autochanger as it's a bit temperamental and difficult to control. I want to swap this out for an iPod Touch (hopefully in centre arm rest) so that I can play movies for the kids in the back and listen to my playlists (via AUX input setting on iDrive). I'm not bothered about watching the DVD movie on the front nav screen as I don't think I'd ever use that feature

I *think* the following will let me do this…

Dension Gateway 500 (GW51M02) and the Dension AVRG5B1

Am I right in thinking this is the best kit for the job? Anyone running this system in their car? Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance! beer

That is about your only option.

I have been using one, without the video input, for the last 2 years and it has been excellent, better than the OEM usb for browising etc.

I may have it for sale, just trying to work out of it works on the new Merc comand or not.

£250 delivered if it doesn't.

One thing I forgot to mention, your car needs to be coded for a CD changer for it to see the Desnion, if you have a cd changer already then you simply plug it inline, if not you need to get a cd changer coded to the nav, a local garage that uses autologic are best, charge for 30 mins.

Also with the Dension you can browse by artist, album, playlist etc. etc. and you can attach a USB stick or 2.5" hard drive at the same time, good bit of kit.

Hi gizlaroc,

Thanks for the information. Is your Gateway 500 the GW51M02 model? Let me know if you're getting rid of it, I may well be interested!
