Hi All,

A little advice required please. My Dad's 323 (1999 I think) heater/blower seems to have packed up. Quick summary:
- system usually just left on auto control
- whilst driving on motorway at the weekend, decided to physically switch air con on as cabin temperature didn't seem to be being controlled. No change in air flow noted, although some residual air being 'forced' through the vents (just be road speed) was colder so suggests the air con itself works?
- then tried windscreen demist which works by blasting air up the screen and no change in airflow again.
- no change in flow/temperature regardless of setting of either fan or temperature

To me this sounds like a motor/fan problem? Fuses have been checked but I don't know if there are any relays that we could have alook at? Or is this a case of taking bits of timr apart to get to a buried blower/fan motor?!

Any thoughts/previous encounters of the problem would be much appreciated - thanks!

If the fan speed seems to have a mind of its own by not blowing in accordance with the bar graph on the display it's likely to be the final stage resistor also known as the hedgehog. If the fan won't blow at all it may be the fan itself.
