How do I take the top speed limiter of my 540I?
Discussion
Hi there,
this is Uncanny - I just posted up a response to the same question on one of the US forums about 10 mins or so ago! c&p below:
To remove the speed limiter you'll need your car taken to a re-map specialist who can do this change. Usually, owners will get their car's re-mapped for better driveability, removal of hesitation and flat spots in the rev range, about 10% extra power and increased torque when it comes to petrol/normally aspirated engines, a part of that process is the optional removal of speed limiter.
Find a reputable re-map specialist to do this sort of work for you is my advice, not just any 'me too me too we can re-map' type places.
Cheers, Dennis!
