Annoying BM24 Radio Module issue - Fixed! (E39 / E46)

Common issue on this module, go over a bump and you loose all sound from the stereo - turn it off, on again sorts it - VERY annoying.
Had the car for 6 months, read various things on here and other BM sites about fix and even found a shop who was will to do it for £100, was tempted but kept reading people saying it was a fairly straight forward soldering repair. Also wasnt keen on buying a 2nd hand one from eBay as whos to say that would have the same issue in 2 weeks.....
Now I must make clear I have never soldered anything in my life - and when buying tools I normally go for the top end stuff - however here I took a chance with a £12 soldering iron from Maplin....
Removed unit from car, stripped, taught myself what reflowing is, and then proceeded to reflow all of the joints where the 3 smaller board meet the big one - it didn't look great so assumed I had killed it. Installed back to car, 1 week later its been perfect
It would cut out so much I used to leave it off, so VERY pleased to have it fixed! If anyone has the issue - its not as scary as it may sound, maybe I was lucky - either way it cost me £12 to repair a VERY annoying problem.
