I'm finally thinking about changing my E39 so can people give me a rough idea for both trade in and private sale please for a realistic value on a 2001 X 520iSE Automatic, leather & heated seats, climate control, 6 cd changer, metallic silver excellent condition 120,000 miles, Full Service History - 1 owner from new - me !!

Then, look at exactly similar age and spec cars on Autotrader and then compare those with probably the lowest denominator which is Ebay car selling prices.

Check also specific BMW forums including 5 series specific ones and if your car is really clean, well maintained, an enthusiast may be a small amount extra to purchase.
