Hi,

As the title really- i would like to unlock the TV in the 335d so that passenger/kids can watch either TV or DVD whilst i drive on long journeys. I have no desire to watch it myself whilst driving.

Has anyone done theirs or had experience of a plug-in module or otherwise for this?

Thanks,

James

Im not sure if you can or if this is right but there must be a motion sensor somewhere goin into the back of the TV unit, if yu can find out you could simply unplug this connector or cut the wire?

Leads are available from a number of suppliers for this, but I've no experience of them. Appear to be plug and play, if you can get the necessary access.

If only it was simply removing a connector or cutting a wire, I'm afraid you do need an interface. the majority are plug in.

I think in many cases you can recode the car to allow it without opening anything more than the diagnostic port

can't be done , i have done it the other way round, ie. stop the TV when the engine starts, it involved a coding disc from BMW, yes I was working for a major BMW importer at the time.
Also there are legal implications, it may not pass the annual test

I bought the nav-tv module which did the job however the tv tuner broke up a lot whilst driving around. The DVD worked fine though(This was on a 2009 model m3 idrive)
