Morning all,
I was reading the recent debate on the benefits of paying a bit more to get an LCI E60. Thinking about changing my E61 520d for an E60 330d or even a 335d (touring again) and wonder when the change to more efficient powertrains happened, and if looking at cars aged around that point how do I tell if it is a post update car?
Also, was the update to the 3.0d as significant as the 2.0d?
Thanks

IIRC, the 320d was after September 2007, although some older stock vehicles were registered after this date. Look for down-turned exhaust pipe, as opposed to efficient dynamics straight exit.

The 330d was a year later in September 2008.

I'll probably be corrected!

The post lci e60 530d has the same engine that you'll find in all e90 330d 231 hp upto the new 241hp landed late 2008. Pre lci 530d's had the 218hp engine. So does that mean all 330ds are post lci??

Interesting, thanks. So for a year or so the 3 series got a better '30d' engine than the 5? Would certainly be nice if '06 cars weren't ruled out when looking around.
