E39 325d touring - worth a remap?
Discussion
Hi All, I've been offered my father-in-law's low mileage 525d auto touring. Not really my cup of tea, but it's in very good order, low mileage, a very nice price and would make a really diesel 6 cylinder cruiser/battlewagon.
I was just wondering if it was worth remapping it, for performance (quoted as 163ish bhp, 258 ft lb)and mpg (quoted as about 35 mpg combined).
Does anyone know what improvements I could expect, & which sort of companies I ought to be speaking to if I get this work done?
Being a complete diesel/remap novice too, I assume I tell my insurance company and they are likely to be cool about this (apart from upping the premiums of course...) It's not in warranty so I'm not expecting any problems from the dealership.

from superchips website it looks as though you would end up with around 195-200BHp and around 480Nm torque! depending how you drove it afterwards you may even see better MPG.
im looking at remapping my e46 320td compact and have so foar been looking at the following companies:
