E46 318Ci exhaust noise

Glad you've brought this up. I've a 318 and have just had half the exhaust system replaced (about half way back including the back box). It's still noisy and raspy when cold - I'm sure someone will ask if it's blowing one day.
I put an OEM end on the exhaust to keep it all looking standard and thought for a time that because the rim of the exhaust doesn't sit inside the lip of the trim that could be it (just the way the gases were moving round it). But then I thought that's just stupid.

Yes, when I had mine, it did sound raspy, went back under warranty a few times to be told nothing is wrong with it.

The E36 318 seems to sound better; maybe check out the 318is and see what's fitted to that?
