Ac fan resistor

Can anyone help with a part number or were to source just the resistor for a 1996 compact 1.8ti it sits on the auxillary fan and controls the fan speed as temp rises. Shaped like a cigar? Any helpwould be much appreciated.

many thanks seems the part only can be bought with the fan 230 quid?? Will try a breaker cheers anyway.

I believe so yes.

But if you search on Google there are people who have replaced only the resistor. But this requires a bit of technical knowledge.

I'm willing to bet that any fan you get from the scrapyard is likely to be knackered.

This is a very common failure item.
