Hello All

2000 "W" redg E39 528i SE auto

Tonight on the M25 I lost the speedo, and "vacuum" guage, the odometer, and I've the ABS fault light on, & all but temp reading on the OBC.

I guess this is all down to one wheel sensor, anyone any experience of this fault, and/or know which wheel sensor it is ?

Yep, the rear nearside. I had to drill mine out but only an hour job and IIRC the part was about £35 from GSF Car Parts.

I had a problem with the front abs sensor. Got a specialist to change it. Afterwards, I felt the abs pulse through the pedal before the three lights appeared and I then had no abs.

A lot of money later (pump/electronic module rebuild etc) I found out that the "specialist" didnt fit an original OEM part. The part (euro car parts? gsf??) wasnte giving a proper signal. Once replaced with a proerp OEM part, it all worked perfectly

They are about 2x the price, but in this instance I would recommend paying extra for the BMW part, rather then a pattern part. In the long term, it costed me far more...

To be fair, though, in the long term it cost me a lot less.

Good stuff. I got "bitten", and thought it was worth mentionning... biggrin
