split cooling pipe - quick bodge for a day or so

The upper tube from radiator to engine on my e39 528 (1998) has developed two small splits - in the likelihood that the part will not be in stock and will take a day or so to source any suggestions how I can put a temporary seal on the rubber pipe.
[which takes us from 3 to 1 serviceable cars in a matter of days as the Merc is off road awaiting new tyres which were also not in stock - that's the economic downturn nobody wants to hold stock.]

[close] issue resolved. time for a new water pump. e39s and cooling...
maybe time to pension the 12yr old off ... I see there are some temptations without even doing any searching....
