Currently have an E91 320D Touring and am thinking of getting a 3 series coupe.
I need to fit a 2 year old and a 4 year old in the back in car seats. The 4 year old can put their own seat belt on, so no problem there. However, I will have to buckle the 2 year old and hence I'm worried about access to the rear. I only need to put the kids in the back 3 mornings a week and the odd time at weekends so not a constant problem.

I do 20,000 miles a year and the kids are only in the car for a fraction of the time, so I fancy buying the car I want rather than the car I needed in the past (the touring).

Anyone with any experience of kids and coupes?

I have kids and an E92 coupe.

No problems, big doors so easy access to lean in and buckle them up or lean through the middle gap and do it. Even my wife didn't complain and now she uses the car more than me. Downside is only the windows in the back don't open and big doors need to be watched in car parks when getting the kids out.

Thanks for advice.

I'm for a test drive on Wednesday but wanted to think with my head before my heart takes over.

have a 3 series cab - 2 yrs old dont know the E number.

But have 2x 5 yrs and 1x 2 yr children.

We use a isofix in the rear for the 2 yr old and normal child car seats for the 5yrs old with one in the front.

With roof downs its easy, and the rear windows come down as well so not had any issues.

Dont the rear windows on a coupe come down as well?

Cab is an E93 and the coupé rear windows do not go down. It's fine for grown ups too!
