Hi,

I'm in need of a new rear bumper with parking sensor holes for my 2004 BMW 330Ci Sport Convertible and have found someone selling what I 'think' is the right part, but I'm not sure as there aren't pictures of the item. The seller has listed the part number (51 12 7 112 643) that brings up the following http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=51+12+... and the seller says that it's for "3 series e46 coupe & convertible (not m3)" and "vehicles with pdc spec that were built from march 03 onwards". I wondered whether someone could tell me whether this is the right part for my car? I'm a bit confused as to whether there are different parts depending on facelift models, sport models and so-on and didn't want to buy something that isn't right!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

FWIW, I tend to use the following site rather than realoem:

http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E46/Cabrio/Europ...

From what I can tell, it certainly looks like it could be the right part.

That's not a Sport bumper with that code - realoem shows the non-sport bumper (with the reflector inserts on the corners). Sport bumper has the rear diffuser

If it's a Sport, then I reckon it's this one

Thanks for pointing out that site Nick, at least I can see the style of the bumper now. John - exactly what I was just about to post! I noticed the reflectors on the bumper and thought that they only appear on non-sport models. The link you've posted looks more like the bumper I need.

Just checking out eBay for one. Does anyone have any other places they recommended checking out to find one?

Also, does anyone know if this bumper is the right shape for a 2004 sport or whether it's an older shape or style?:

Thanks again for the replies.

No idea on the "post 03" PDC thing - that's certainly a Sport bumper though

Interesting colour, wonder what car it came off.

I'd imagine the part number will be written on the bumper somewhere, or the vendor may know what car it came from?

Yeah, not sure it'll go with black though so I guess I'd better get it resprayed first if it's the right one biggrin

Is the diffuser the part that is shown as key 3 in the link you provided (the bottom key 3 that is)?

RealOEM is a useful source but I generally use the main dealer to get part numbers and quote a price. Then a quick shoparound to find the best place. I've used these lately.... BMWMiniparts.com (I think - not at my PC)

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm just about getting there! Just one more thing, are there any difference in a 3 series sport rear bumper between a pre-facelift and facelift model? I've found a couple of sport bumpers but I'm not sure what year car they're from so wondered if there was even any difference or whether the rear bumpers from pre-facelift/facelift are in fact the same?
