Noticed this week that the phones weren't pairing with the car. Both of our phones have been working fine for some time now too.

Thought I'd try to unpair and re-pair them, but the iDrive won't let me delete them. Nor will it detect my phone if I change the bluetooth name/ID.

Is this something I can reset myself or do I need to get it booked in under warranty?

Give it the 3 finger salute - push the CD eject, DVD eject and volume/mute buttons simultaneously until the system restarts.

Not heard of that one! When you say mute button, which one do you mean?

Had a guess at it being the stereo volume button, and it seemed to be the one. Didn't get chance to actually try the Bluetooth. Will get wife to later.

For completeness, rebooting with the three finger salute (lol) and then re-pairing sorted this out.

Hi guys,

Would this "3 fingered salute" work on a Z4M roadster as well?

I've always had trouble syncing my iPhone with this cars systems!

Cheers

Worth a try? Mine is the pre hard disc version of the Pro nav/iDrive.

The other thing to remember is that you don't have to set the phones as discoverable, just go into the pairing menu in the iDrive and then start your phone off looking for devices.
