Wife has a BMW 330d M Sport Touring, which she really likes, but ever since we went to the Festival of Speed and saw the new Alpina B3S she wants one, I'm more than happy because to me it's an M3 touring! The question is what effect do you think high millage will have on the resale value, as it's likely to have 40,000 plus miles on it in less than 2 years?

Hi there,

Maintain it meticulously, document everything, take frequent photo's of the car, put all that into a portfolio of the time you've spent with it, enjoyed it, looked after it and another Alpina purchaser is likely to be impressed come re-sale time.

High miles doesn't automatically mean everyone will low ball you on offers, but in order to maximise re-sale money back, keep it highly maintained !

Cheers, Dennis!

There is next to no market, as such, in ALPINAs.

If you have the good fortune to introduce your car to the person destined to care for it next you will get a good price; if you want to shift it by next Tuesday, latest, you won't.

You are less likely to think "damn, I wish I'd taken the XXXX" in an ALPINA than almost any other car.

I'm on my 2nd, eventually I'll buy a third.

I'm guessing that all E9* B3's have taken a bit of a hit due to the launch of the B3 S.

We were intrested in the new Mercedes E class Estate (E63 AMG) untill we saw the price! it makes the Touring B3 S seem cheap!

The way I see it is, this is an M3 touring with better fuel economy and lower C02's. Plus the next M3 will probably be a Turbo V6 or straight six anyway.
