I confess I'm puzzled. My 330d Sport touring has 255 35 18's on the back and 235 40 18 on the front - as you'd expect.

The plate on the b post says tyre pressures of 2.6 bar front and 3.0 bar rear. By my reckoning thats about 43psi rear and 37psi front, yet whenever I have tyres fitted they always set them to around 25 psi front & rear. I have to say the bar figure seems very high.

What do you run yours at?

Just done 35f and 36r. Seems ok so far. It feels crashy though but when I pit on 33 psi they actually looked low.

Chris,

I suspect you mean 225/40/18 on the front? smile

I run mine at 33 front and 35 rear and they're spot on in my opinion.

Indeed I do!smile

Thanks chaps I'll give it a go at around 33f /36r then. God knows how hard the ride would be at 43psi!

Well I have now got them set at 33 front and 37 rear... according to Asdas very clever tyre blower upper machine. The ride is certainly much firmer as you would expect. I think I can feel every grain of Tarmac now! It does seem to tramline more but that could be down to wear pattern as a result of running at lower pressures. As for handling, I've not had chance to explore fully but I fancy turn in may be a tad sharper than it was.

Anyway, thanks for the help. Bloody BMW... why can't they give the figures in psi in the first place instead of flippin Bar! confused

Interesting, well I am running about 35 front and 43 on the back. I think I might tone it down a bit, it is a little bouncy at times it has to be said. Having said that, 99% of my driving is done with just me in it so not much extra weight being applied!
