I bought a 328i Sport about three months ago so perhaps can talk of some recent experience.

I looked at a few and was disappointed with body condition - I was surprised to see corrosion on rear arches being pretty common but most seemed to be mechanically good.

I wanted a late a model as possible but it seems to be that they should be bought on condition / history rather than mileage or age. Mine is now 12 years old with 117k but has fewer squeaks / rattles and feels far tighter than my 59 plate 22k Golf

I'm looking for another 328i Sport now but one that can be more of a project car - prices do indeed seem very low at the moment, I know I paid top money for mine but its condition and history made it a safe buy
