Anybody here know what you could expect from a 330d auto? As all find all the figures differ? And I would rather hear it from somebody first hand as such.
Normal round town driving, not a vicar but not lead footed either or how many miles to a tank etc?
Many thanks

Mine does about 32/34 around town and 45/48 on a longish motorway run.

Would have thought the combined figure for an auto would be no more than 40mpg so mid to high 40's at a steady 85mph sounds, err, optimistic? Had an E46 330cd with the manual box and even on the inaccurate trip computer it wouldn't get anywhere near that sort of fuel consumption at a steady 85mph!

I am talking figures off the TC not fill / refill method, so some degree of innaccuracy agreed. B'ham to Southampton I can get around 46 for the journey overall. Obviously it isnt 85 constant cos some of it is A34 through Oxford etc which is more like 55 - 60 which helps. My son on the other hand has a manual saloon and he gets around 43 as an average (again off the TC) but he does have more dual / m.way in the mix than I do.

Out of interest what sort of mileages have your car and your son's car covered? I had mine from new and sold at around 2 years and 22k miles because I wasn't doing the miles I envisaged; however, I do wonder if the car just never loosened up properly in the time I had it! I've seen posts from a number of other owners of E46 330d's claiming over 40mpg but the genuine figure on mine was always about 38mpg (and that included very little round town running). Trip computer always said it was getting on for 10% better than that though...!
