SMG to 5 speed manual on E36 M3 Convertible Info Rqd
Discussion
Hiya,
I have a 1998 3.2 E36 M3 Evo Convertible and the SMG is the SMG I which is renowned for problems. It recently burnt out my flywheel n clutch and after a hefty diagnostic bill, I am informed that the actuator is faulty and not releasing the clutch fully. I was informed this after the clutch n flywheel had been replaced!!
Now I am looking at changing my SMG gearbox to a five speed manual; at present I have bought the five speed box off a 1998 3.0 E36 M3.
I have two questions....
1) will the new clutch, fly wheel and five speed gearbox be ok to use in the conversion?
2) has anybody got a parts list, an instruction piece of how to do the conversion...preferably in full with nice pretty diagrams lol.
I have read the forums and believe member M3 John has done this; but the search facility is down and I am struggling getting anyinfo now.
Please help xx
