Hi all

Got a warning on the MOT for the OSF ball joint so going to replace it, the ball joint is attached to the wishbone as far as I can see, now BMW are quoting stupid money and having to get it from Germany etc.

GSF are cheaper but I can't see what the description would be (there isn't a wishbone listed)

The part I need is number 12 on this diagram

Can anyone have a look at this and the gsf/ any other supplier and tell me what the hell its called (a part number would be even better!) oh and the car is a 535 so has different suspension to the 6 cylinders.

Hi Neil: tried feeding the VIN into this - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ ? Should get you to the part number, & a description. Mine comes up as 12 Wishbone, left 1 31121141961 : that's for a 540.

That is also known as the lower track control arm and as you say, the balljoint is not replaceable but requires a replacement arm.
