I'm trying to trace the history of the car I've just bought (SH book lost), and my local BMW garage has printed out a list of dealer visits that's on their system.

With two of the dealers it's not obvious who they are:

16355 R Stern
16309 Sytner CE

R Stern appears to be Robert Stern, Worcester. Doesn't seem to exist anymore, as the BMW website lists Rybrook as the dealership in Worcester.

Can anyone shed any light on these two before I call up and sound even more stupid than usual?

Oh, and a big thumbup to the chap on parts at Specialist Cars Tring for going above and beyond to get the information for me.

They do rename, or change hands, quite often.
Sytner CE .. "Central England" perhaps? Sutton Coldfield or Solihull?

Customer Information Department on: 0800 325 600 can match up dealer codes, or you they have a number for tracing history (C+P from website):

Should you wish to obtain details of a vehicle's specification, or information on the visits to a dealership of a particular vehicle, this is only available by calling our dedicated team on: 0906 209 0001 (Calls are charged at £1 per minute). Lines are open 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Calls may be recorded for training purposes.

Nowt to do with me though, but I know the cust care number can match up the codes you have

Rybrook took over Robert Stern, so you won't look silly if you contact them.
