Hi,

When I am doing around 70mph or over and the road bends to left or right the steering wheel quite violently wobbles. Its only at these speeds that it wobbles. I would say its coming from the osf wheel area. Also at any speed I can feel a little clunk coming through the throttle pedal whan I go over some bumps in the road. I am sure these are related.

I jacked the car up today and checked under the front to see if anything was worn. Everything seems fine i.e. springs, balljoints and sus arm bushes.

Could the problem be antiroll bar bushes or something. It feels quite dangerous but I cant really afford to put it into a garage at the moment. The car is a 323 coupe e36.

Can anyone give me any pointers please.

Alan

Are your tyres ok?

When was it last MOTed? Any advisories?

Try having your wheels balanced.

Its quite cheap, and often solves problems like this. Also check your tyres pressures.

The tyres are starting to go off because of this problem. There were no advisories at the last mot. Its not a balancing problem.

Can you drive through the problem?

Get the tyres checked to ensure they are still true and round, get balancing checked if still no joy then look and wishbone bushes and ball joints.

No I cant drive through it and it only happens when I am going round a bend. I know what a balance problem feels like on a car and its not that.

My E39 did it, when all the suspension components of the car were replaced due to them being knackered, it stopped.

Front lower arm rear bushes. Powerflex are great and garanteed for life. Work better and last longer. Also easier to fit.
