Alloy internal face to brake calliper clearance

I've got some 17" (spider spoke 157) wheels for my 330d saloon (E90), I swapped them from the 18" (spider spoke 193) and they clear everything etc. However, my only concern is that the inner face of the alloy distance to the outer edge of the calliper is probably 3-4mm, is this a problem? Will they rub under load etc.?

I chose these alloys as I know they fit the 325d coupé (E92 which has the same 330mm disc brake and the same callipers according to the part numbers) but I thought the clearance would be a bit more,

Edit: or alternatively anyone got a 325/330 SE coupé with the 157 style alloys who could check there clearance?

3-4mm is fine, some track cars with big brakes run even closer.

A popular upgrade on the E36 is to use 330i/d brakes as they still fit behind the OEM 17" rims so I reckon you'll be fine.

I have D3 alloys on my 335d. with new pads in, as its a sliding caliper, i have to use 2mm spacers. Once the pads have worn a touch, i take them off. Clearance is about three Rizlas....no problems to report. the more the pads wear, the clearance increases to a roll up.

157 is a standard wheel on 325 E92 so you should have no problem

can Dimension 'A' also be around 3-4mm?

Stick on balancing weight may cause an issue but other that should be fine.

Cool, thanks guys, much appreciated, I'll go ahead and get some winter tyres fitted on these 17s, just wanted to be sure first (as it looked so close when I fitted them!) and I think the wheel weights are back far enough in the alloy to clear the calliper, but will check,

so what would the absolute minimum be then clearance wise? 1-2mm? As I presume there is very little movement between the calliper hub and alloy as they are all mounted off the same unit?
