E90 crash damage
Discussion
Hi everyone,
I have just come back off holiday to find someone has whacked the passenger side wing of my parked e90 saloon. - see pic (I have since turned the car around) http://www.mqconsulting.co.uk/100_2384.JPG

Luckily they left their number and the neighbours recorded the vehicle's details (a FEDEX van), so it will almost certainly be an insurance job.
It looks like the car was pushed with some force into the kerb and even hit the car in front, the alloys are badly scratched on the drivers side.
I'm wondering whether an impact such as this would twist the chassis/engine bay in such a way that would make it unrepairable. I am very reluctant to accept the car back if it is any way impaired. To be honest I'd rather not have the car back anyway since I was looking to sell it due to family getting bigger, and I know how hard it is to sell a car that has been repaired after crash damage.
I'd welcome anyone's thoughts on whether this seems repairable and roughly how much it would cost.
Cheers

Very similar thing happened to our 3 series a few weeks after we got it - someone in an X5 took out the passenger front wing. A note was left though.
Took it to BMW who got Accident Echange involved - basically we got a like for like hire car from them, didn't have to deal with the insurance company and the car came back as new.
Of course, if the impact was hard enough, yet it could have chassis damage - if this is so, then it may not be economical to fix and it may be written off.

If its going through insurance then the repairers will definitely do a geometry check before they start the repairs. This will show them if any mechanical parts will need replacing.
What's the car worth roughly, as it doesn't look that bad. I've seen cars before that have a had a hit in the same area, with less or no panel damage but have had major suspension damage and have no drive to the wheels.

Thanks for the replies. It's a 55 plate with 92k miles. I got it for £7.5k 18 months ago so I guess the value must be a little less than that now..
I will insist on BMW repairing the car I think - thanks for all the suggestions. I'm just trying to figure out whether I should get my insurance company involved. I'm speaking directly with his insurance at the moment (LV) and they are looking into it. I think if I used my insurance to manage the whole thing it will impact my premium next year unfortunately - despite it being no fault of mine.
