I picked up an '02 X5 last night and it has widescreen nav, a changer in the boot, DSP and a Motorola phone in the armrest.

So, first thing is what's the current 'best' way to hook up an iPod? The DICE looks pretty decent, though I'm not sure if the DSP would cause an issue? And is there anything that shows the full list of tracks, playlists, etc instead of that silly 'disc 1 is all tracks, disc 2 is playlist 01..' nonsense?

Second one is the phone. Can this be upgraded so I can plug something else in?

Thirdly... should I just get one of those bluetooth/ipod things from Parrot or whoever to do all of the above?

On the ipod integration, I have been using the Intravee solution for 2 years now, and very pleased with it. Somewhat pricy, perhaps, but also IMHO the best. With DSP you also need a DSP adapter (available at £61.29) in addition to this kit: http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalog/intravee.htm...

Cheers mate, that's the solution I'd come to as it seems to integrate pretty well. It's just that, with it being a fairly old bit of kit I thought there may have been a 'newer' solution.

Dice now do something called the Mediabridge, which from their claims is the best alternative to the Intravee - however, I haven't seen any proper reviews of it yet.

I had a Dice Silverline in my (non-nav) E39; when I picked up my E46 with nav a few weeks ago, I bunged it in that as a stop-gap. Absolutely rubbish with nav, to be honest, so I've bought a KCA-420i on eBay and am going to pick up an Intravee instead.
