Should it stay or should it go????????????
Discussion
Hi All
I have a 54 plate X5 3.0d sport, had it for 3 years and now has about 85k miles on it.
Not had too many problems with it, sunroof refused to close, but BMW fixed as a good will gesture just after 3 years (when I bought it), also had the driver door failing to open (Now fixed).
However just had the turbo go up in a puff of smoke and cost appro £1600 to fix!.
So should I run for another couple of years safe in the knowledge of my new turbo (one less thing to go wrong! Or is it better to chop in now before the mileage goes too high for a good resale value (ive seen that diesel pumps can go too which are expensive).
Keep or sell
What do you think?
Cheers
Alastair

My brother has a 2005 55 plate x5 3.0d which is a 4.8is lookalike.
he is selling his due to imminent suspension problems (mechanic diagnosis) and also the recently facelifted audi q7 which also has 7 seats to suit his expanding family.
the x5 is a good car for the time he has had it, but you dont want to know the price of a new suspension setup..
handling wise, they are like no other and i personally think that diesel sounds better than the petrol.
i would advise you to get a facelift q7 or at least check it out. make sure you take a look at those tail lights.
