03/320d Exhaust

Had the exhaust snap clean off after the cat back over.
Had a new exhaust fitted today as i was away with the missus and kids and had no real time to look around for price, so went to one of the main exhaust and tyre specialists.
I am sure that when i looked under the car to see the damage the section back over was flanged at the back box end, whilst the repair appears to be sleeved pasted and clamped.
No specialist myself in this field, but would it be standard for ot to be flanged conections, if so would this be the way to repair it.
