Just bought a '97 e39 and like all of its genre the headlights have orange indicators and the lenses have went cloudy

Are there any cost effective ways to replace these without spending a lot of money? Ideally i'd want clear indicators and as close to factory look as possible, but i'd consider other options. Car is black by the way.

The stock ones from the later pre facelift cars can be had cheap enough and look way better, much better than any of the cheap copies. You can take the units apart and clean them up and replace the corners(100 quid a set for clear indicator lenses) but its not guaranteed to get much better light out of them.

Save up and get the Hella Angel eyes you know you want to (ive only got later headlights in because my car failed MOT for headlights so I stole the ones out of my dads car so now he has the orange indicators)
