i recently had to have the timing chain replaced as the cplastic coupling shattered. The car began running rough and then rattled like a diesel. It went into a bmw specialist who replaced the chain and 2 gaskets but now i have it back the timing on 2 valves still havnt settled down and the gasket still sounds like its ticking!!
can anyone help

Take it back and get them to do the job you paid them to do this time?

Firstly, did they use the proper Vanos setting tools and the cam timing setting tools. If not, both are available to purchase or rent on ebay so there is no excuse not to use them. The engines never run right if you guess the timing or try and use paint marks!

You have paid to have the job done properly so unless they advised anything that you subsequently declined, you need to return it and have it sorted out.
