Hi all just bought a e39 520i as a inbetween car as i'm getting ready to sell the M5. Just a quick one basically its a 1999 e39 520i and all i want to know would this have the fly-by wire throttle or is it a cable? Only reason is compared to my m5 also and e39 of the same year its really heavy to press and feels like an old school heavy clutch pedal. what could be the problem with it?

not sure about a 520 but my 2000 528 sport had a stiff cable, easy to replace and made the car feel completely different to drive. well worth replacing.

I once had a '99 E46 323i with the same problem.

Apparently a 'common fault' according to the dealer I bought it from.
