z4 3.0 Si Coupe Vs Z4MC cost comparison for 20k miles PA
Discussion
Hi All,
Fancy something different from my 1999 740i that I have run for the last 5 years and 100k mile. Thought about a boxster, but the PH Porsche massive set me right on that (cheers guys), now fancy a z4 coupe as an every day car.
80 - 90% of my driving is on motor ways @ 80 ish.
What are the real life extra costs of running the M with a good spcialist.(excluding fuel & ins). i.e M costs 150% of what the non M costs.
Is the M OK to run to 150K+ miles without major issues?
Combined average mgg of the M seems to be the same as the 740i @ ~24 as opposed to non M @~33, is this right? (I have put over £25k of motion lotion into the 740, so far)
Cheers

I had my 3.0 Z4 for 18 months (15k miles) and the Z4MC for 12 months (10k miles).
So I have no idea about long term longevity, and only used main dealers for servicing (where 150% is probably about right).
But on the mpg point, my experience was that there was very little difference in motorway mpgs between the two. Maybe 1-2mpg at most.
Without doubt (IMHO, obviously) the M is the one to go for if you get the chance. The noise, the drive, the looks, the power.... all better enough to justify the extra outlay.
