Front tyre size E34, will 245/40R18 fit?
Discussion
Has anyone ever fitted 245's to the front of their E34?
I have a new set of rather crusty (but very cheap) 18" alloys that I got from from PH ad's. (they will look great after the refurb)
After trawling eBay got some part worn michelins to get me started 235/45R18 front, 255/40R18 rear.
(rolling radius is slightly larger than standard but within tollerance)
But when they wear out I was looking to fit new tyres, I have subsequently found buying tyres for a staggered set of alloys is actually a bit of a pain! But I've found a matching set of Falkens that fall into my price range.
And there's the snag they are 245/40R18 and 255/40R18, will that extra 10mm upfront make a significant difference and cause rubbing?
Any advice greatly welcome.

I used to run 235/40 ZR 18 up front and 265/35 ZR 18 out back on my 535i Sport and I seem to recall they were pretty close to the strut up front on the inside of the tyre but it's a long time ago now and there might have been room for an extra 10mm. Not much help I'm afraid but I'd be more concerned about rubbing on the inside than the arch.
