320d egr light

hi guys i have taken the flaps out and removed the egr from the manifold(replaced with a tube), i left the wires connected and blanked off the vac pipe, it runs better but the engine light comes on from cold starts, it is the egr code and cealrs ok but comes back on from cold any ideas, 54 plate 320d

Hi Tinker

We just did this to a mate 320d sport last weekend and found we had to leave the actual flap actuator in situ (obviously not driving anything) and fully plugged in electronically to stop the light coming on. Had the same syptoms as you as we also removed the actuator, as soon as he replaced it and plyugged things back in it went off and has stayed off for the week now.
