Hi,

What would cause the car when starting (from cold only) to judder and idle 600rpm roughly & sound like its not running on all cylinders... after 30 secs the idle speed jumps up and is like normal. after 20min drive to work, the car, will start fine after switching off.
The at the end of the day (when cold) will start poorly like in the morning ?

Any ideas smile thanks

Mine (E36 99T 318is) sounds rough for the first 30 seconds or so, though it idles in the 900-1000rpm range, rather than your 600rpm, before settling down to 800rpm. I think it's just the cold, damp weather. My brother has a Z4 and the owner's manual actually says that this might happen and to let it settle down before driving. Seems it's normal then.
