ok so some of you may remember ive had a few problems. so today i got the car on the fault reader and cleared the old codes.

2 came back instantly

cam sensor - that would explain why it wont start some times

electronic thermostat control - i have no issues with overheating etc what should i expect to see from this fault?

The other fault was on the transmition

gear monitering - not sure what this one means but the car somtimes sticks in 4th or 3rd gear esp after you kick it down. if you manualy change it up ist fine. any ideas on this one?

There is a known issue that if the rear tyres are dramatically uneven in terms of wear (i.e. one tyre very worn, one nearly new) this can cause the transmission to hold lower gears, particularly on an incline.

It should tell you which sensor (bank 1 or 2) - I purchased a new one, but when I took the old one out it had quite a bit of swarf on the end of it - you might find that a simple clean up is all that is required. Dead easy to get to, just remove the engine cover.

As for the thermostat - get it changed. Mine had this error for ages and I ignored it because everything seemed ok and it didn't overheat - then it finally did pack up and did overheat and didn't do the engine much good.
And you know what I'm going to say now... Whilst your'e at it, change the water pump and replace the radiator!
