URGENT! Swirl Flap problems

Guys, my car is in for a service regarding swirl flap / and or actuator (which is what diagnostic suggested)

It is in the garage today, just had a call off the guy who is doing it, just taken the engine apart and tells me it is definately the actuator not the flaps.

SO......... apparently you cannot buy actuators, you have to buy a complete manifold? £400 ........

Anybody know if you can buy an actuator on its own?

No, the ebay item is the fuel flap actuator, or lock that is tied into the cars central locking to lock the fuel filler flap when you lock the car.

i realised that as soon as i posted it.

unfortunatly it seems the model e46 i own, is the model with the actuator built into the manifold.

I think I might have an old manifold (pre swirl flap shaft update) in my barn. I'll look tomorrow.
