Hi,

I've just changed my horrible Pirelli RFTs to Uniroyal Rainsport 2 non RFT all round on my 120d Msport. Pirellis only lasted 19,000 miles!

The tyre fitter seemed to think the tyre pressures should now be more than on the RFT. Is this correct, and if not, what tyre pressure should I be running on front and rears, please?

I have the std msport 17s (205/50 R17 on the front & 225/45 R17 on the rear). If you could set my mind at rest I'd be grateful.

Cheers.
Joe

I've got normal tyres on the MINI now and run the same pressure as the RFT, they've been fine for the last two years and wear and handling are very similar to the RFT - just ride comfort improved.

Yeah I saw that, but no one appeared to come up with a definitive right answer! In which case I'll go the safe option and inflate to the same pressures as the od RFTs - I'll keep an eye on wear and see what it drives like.

Cheers for the reply.

I found it is usually around 10% less than the run flat.

That is on all 6 cars I have swapped them on.

Sticks.

With some trial and error I found an extra 0.1bar all round felt right on my 120d M Sport with 17s.
