E60 530/535d Options
Discussion
I'm looking to buy either an E60 530 or 535d
What are the must have / desired options that are a must on both?
I've seen some with adaptive xenons, loud hi-fi, heated front seats 19" wheels etc etc....... but prices vary so much like on most stuff I want to make sure I get what is considered a MUST
I've also seen some 57 plate cars which say face lift..... are these the LCI cars?
Sorry for the 5,000 questions
I've got about £22,500 to spend if that helps

I have a E60 530D M Sport, the options it has are:
20 Way electric/heated comfort seats
Adaptive bi xenons
Pro nav
Logic 7
Electric fold/dim side mirrors
Bluetooth
Aux in port
They are the options I was mainly interested in when buying my car, there are so many more options available though, such as HUD, rear heated seats, rear tv monitors built in, lane departure warning etc etc etc and so on, it all depends what YOU really want.
And yes if it is a 2007 then it is a LCI model.
Spend more time looking for what you are after, there are so many available.

No, only those with a build date after something like 28th March are LCI cars. There were also quite a few non LCI cars registered into May.For that budget i would definitely definitely be looking at only LCI cars. Much better. the 535d has an entirely different engine, gearbox and all cars got better rear suspension, improved interior and more efficient engines (plus the new auto box)
Auto LCI cars are most easily spotted as they have the joystick style gear stick. Non autos are probably easiest spotted via the LED bars across the rear lights and different door cards.
Mine has a spec sheet as long as your arm but the one thing I wish it had and which wasn't available when I got mine is the USB port - missue has it on her X5 and it's great.
As a minimum for your budget, I'd be looking for:
19" wheels
Media package
Auto (go for a 535d and they are all auto anyway)
SAT (Sports Auto Transmission)
Xenons (standard?)
Heated seats
On top of that things like memory seats etc are nice to have but ultimately don't affect the ownership experience too much.

Hiya
As already mentioned, it's too broad to say what car should have 'must have' options as different people have different requirements.
I personally don't give a hoot if it's not got Satnav, media package, 20 way adjustable seats and a few other things. If I decide later on I simply 'must' have something I can retrofit - but it definitley wouldn't be some of the really high priced items!
I understand what you trying to ask, but theres simply too many variables. You should look at all the options YOU want and then try to find a car that has them!
Cheers, Dennis!

Yep, afaik facelift cars are LCI - apparently a much better gearbox and far better mpg, with a more powerful engine.
Options I think are a must:
M-sport (less comfortable apparently, but I LOVE the look, the non-sport models look too bland IMO)
Heated seats
19 inch wheels
Sat nav (don't know if they all came with? but beleive me, it will make it a pain to sell without)
Bluetooth
Front/rear parking sensors
I wish mine had the Logic 7 stereo, as the standard one is absolutely terrible. I've heard the Logic 7 in a friends M5 and it sounds miles better.
Other cool options are:
Heads up display - you won't realise how useful it is until you have it and get used to it!
Fully electric seats
The lights that move with the steering (I forget what they are called)
That car you have linked looks beautiful - I'm gutted I couldn't find the spec I wanted in black.

Having just sold mine, I'd say that whilst the one you are looking is a lovely car, it's way too much money.
Mine had the following:
Space Grey
Black Dakota Leather
Visibility Package (Xenon & Adaptive lights)
Media Package (Prof Nav, BMW Assist, Voice Control, Bluetooth, 6 CD changer)
19" wheels
Sports Automatic transmission
Grad tint windscreen
Auto-dim mirror + ext mirrorFully Electric Comfort Seats
Through load
Front seat heating
Black high gloss trim
Extended light package
Hi-Fi loudspeaker system
USB/Ipod interface
Sun protection glass
M rear spoiler
The mileage was higher (67000) but it also had a full transferrable warranty and it went for £18600. The car was absolutely immaculate inside and out.
I'd suggest you drive one with the SAT as it makes a huge difference, and drive it properly - stick to the left, sport button on and use the paddles and put your foot down. The standard sports seats are bloody uncomfortable, comfort seats make all the difference.
I'd be looking to pay under £20k, nearer £19 for the car in the advert.

I'm not sure M-J-B. I don't have access to mileage correction figures right now, but for me 35,000 fewer miles would be worth more than £1,000.
Think I agree - the market is so sensitive to mileage (rightly or wrongly) and a 30k difference could easily be 2-3 years worth of driving. I'd say the lower mileage is probably worth a couple of grand or so (but them as I have already said I'm not au fait with the market - it's just a feeling really).GR4 said:

But the blue car is not as well spec'd - no comfort seats, no SAT for example.Still a nice car, but nearer £20 that the advertised price I would suggest.
I accept the mileage does play a factor here

Also that 35K miles difference will account for a lot.

On a pre-LCI, the 530d didn't come with climate control as standard (you can tell by the cheap plastic knobs on the normal ventilation/air-con). I don't think I've seen an LCI 530d without it, but worth checking anyway.
I *think* it was still an option on LCI cars - i've a vague recollection from checking it out at the time when i bought my LCI 535d new in 07.Door cards, auto box (if fitted) and tail lights are the most certain differences.
