Morning all,
My 2007 E61 is on my drive locked and alarmed and not responding to remotes. Fine up until yesterday evening and now nothing. Spare remote doesn't work either, so I assume not a battery issue.
All handbooks are in glovebox so I cannot read up on it until I get into car, and I assume as soon as I manually open car with the key alarm will go off? So my urgent question to avoid falling out with my neighbours is, can I switch off alarm manually with key somewhere when I open car?
Many thanks

OK, I now know that alarm stops as soon as key goes into ignition so I can get by until I find out why car is not responding to remotes.

I had much the same a few weeks back. Also a couple of other glitches like the temp display going from F to C, the audio source input changing and the auto lock function on driving away turned off. Plus a couple others. Drove the car a few miles and returned home and it was as if nothing has happened - both remotes worked again. No idea what happened. All's been fine since

Yes, mine lost a bunch of settings as well. Unfortunately the glitch hasn't righted itself in my case, and I am locking/unlocking with the key and setting off the alarm every time I open the car until I get it sorted. Likely culprit seems to be the remote control signal receiver, which I think in my touring may be in the spoiler at the top of the tailgate glass.

i had the same problem and it was the wiring from the amps in the spoiler around the hinge into the roof, its a right s##t job to do as minehad broke one wire and 6 more were about to go, you can get to it via the rear upper drivers side speaker and the tail gate trim, my radio also lost its memory at the same time,
