Went to my car this morning and in place of the pop up headlight washers is 2 big holes !

Assumed they had been stolen so phoned dealer to ask about replacements, surprised when they told me that they may not have been stolen as they have had quite a few go missing over recent weeks, apparently the pipes are freezing and when you use them they are popping up and out !

So it appears it's a design fault, when you need them most they fail and to top it off the replacements supplied painted and fitted are £240 with no guarantee it won't happen again

Anyone else heard of this, either them beign stolen or falling out, not happy !

Seem to remember hearing something similar last winter about them popping off. Don't think it was E91 specific though.

Yes happened to me also last week on an 06 e92 and is happening on a lot of other models in fact there is an earlier thread on a previous page.
They do not have to be used for them to pop out as mine was parked outside for a week and after the snow had melted off the car noticed both of them hanging out.
The water is freezing inside the pipes and pushing them out, a design fault if there ever was one and this is happening worldwide but BMW will not take responsibility and say its wear and tear.
I was lucky as mine did not fall off however one of them is not retracting 100% and standing out a bit however there is no way I shall fix it as the one they replace is the exact same so they have not modded the part even though this is a design fault.

Thanks guys and yeah a bit of hunting around finds plenty of the same tales, as mine is under warranty they are having a look at it before deciding what if anything they will offer, as some have been done under warranty I'm hoping for the best !

On the E39 the washer pipes separate when the fluid freezes.

How can it be wear and tear, its the concentration of your washer fluid, its obviously incorrect otherwise it wont freeze and you wont have the problem.

It happened to me on my 08 E92, took it to my local dealer (Coopers Reading) and was fixed under warranty, no issues.

We've had one go missing on our 2009 E91, and it goes in Monday to be fixed (along with other bits), dealer has not mentioned monies, so I'm guessing it will bedone under warranty?
