E36 Wheels on an E46?

Will E36 rims fit on an E46? I'm looking to get some 16" rims for a set of winter tyres for a E46 325 (currently on 17" rims). I've found a cheap set of 16" E36 rims, which would suit the winter tyres that the local tyre place has.

I believe they'll fit fine so long as 325s of that era were available with 16s. There should be a sticker on the door jamb listing approved wheel and tyre sizes. 330s need 17s to clear the brakes.
