2004 X5 OIL PROBLEM

ive just checked the oil level in our 3.0i petrol x5 and on the dip stick was a couple of blobs of yellow gunge so i unscrewed oil filler cap and there was some there too the car had an oil and filter change no more than 500 miles ago
what do you guys think head fooked or just condensation as the car does alot of small trips we only do about 100 miles a week most of which are 3 to 5 miles

mind does the same this time of year , i wouldnt worry too much.
when the weather gets warm it should go away.
