Looking at one on Sunday. Does anyone know if they have ISOFIX points?

Thanks in advance.

I know mine does. Not sure wether it was optional or not though.

Already said but I'll add that my 2003 325i Sport Touring had them.

My 330i Sport Touring was registered very late in 2001 (so it'll be a 2002 model year car), and has Isofix in the back. Not listed in the spec sheet so I assume it was standard then too.

Ours has them. There are plastic flaps which cover the isofix points in the rear seats. Looking at the photos, that car looks like its got them.

That one looks nice - I like the silver exterior, though since the majority seem to be silver I was happy to find a black one. It's been for sale for ages, and the seller is a specialist in W124 Merc estates at ambitious prices, so it might not surprise you that I think it's a bit pricey. FWIW I paid £4,200 for my car, registered 31/12/2001, 92k miles and very comprehensive BMW main dealer history (including about £4k spent in the last year on new pads and disks all round, new bushes, alternator, battery etc).

I think the only option on the one you're looking at (other than leather which seems to be ubiquitous) is the sunroof, so don't pay too much smile ETA: oh, and headlamp washers, though it doesn't have xenons.

Yeah, shame about the lack of Xenons. But been looking on Autotrader and there really aren't many out there. And part of the reason I want to go for this one is the fact its from the chap behind the W124s. Reckon he'd only sell the best ones. Will keep you posted.

Pre-facelift knocks the price a bit - and it's a manual gearbox, which seem not to sell so quickly.

What happened in the facelift? And I definitely want an auto.

Front end changed - the headlights in particular (post-facelift have upturned indicators, pre- has downturned) and not many Sports were made pre-facelift. Not a lot else, really; there were small incremental changes every model year. I've read that there were changes to the rear subframe mounts at some point around the time of the facelift, and they are known to fail on earlier cars, but I think that change happened slightly earlier, on the introduction of the 330i to replace the 328i.

Be wary of auto boxes as well; they're reputed to be a bit flaky at higher mileage. I'm just about to go with a proper BMW warranty (even the comprehensive one is available at sub-100k miles, if the car's been fully serviced by main dealers - or a drivetrain only warranty can be had post-100k, again subject to servicing). www.bmw-warranty.co.uk

By the way, nice combination of cars you'll have biggrin

It's easy to check if they have ISOFIX, just put your hand down between the rear seat squab and the seat back and you should find two D shaped metal hoops, something like this which from the link looks like it's taken in an E90 3 Series:

Or indeed look at the photo of the rear seats which shows the little plastic covers indicating it's fitted:

Thanks again.

Was going to get rid of the Boxster but after a 1200 mile drive over New Year, can't seem to bring myself to. So now going to keep both biggrin

I'm not really mechanically minded at all. So re the Auto box (and sorry for all these questions), is there anything to look out for apart from grinding gear changes?
