M52 loom on m50 engine?

I have an e36 320 with an m52 in it. It's gone bang! I've been offered a cheep m50 engine. Will it plug straight into my m52 loom and work?

The M50 would be OBDI (older) than the current OBDII that your M52 uses. I am not sure if its a straight awap, but I would take the chance to upgrade to an M52B25 or M52B28, as the real world fuel economy won't be THAT different.
