Hi

Does anyone know if I can get away with a 245/45 FRONT tyre on an 18" MV2 for a BMW 330ci/2004? Current front tyre is a 225, but have a chance of a set of (4) 245 winter Tyres.

Cheers

Worst case would be to fit (a rather large spacer) on the fronts, but think it would work if the aspect ratio, etc is not too far off the original sizes.

Could you post up the exact dimensions of the current set-up and the potential new set?

The MV2 alloys are 8j front and 8.5j rear, should be on 225/40 and 255/35 respectively.

I can't see it working out well with 245/45 on the front.

Why? If you have an accident too and insurers spot incorrect spec tyres for the rim then they will do what they can to avoid any claim.

If for everyday use on the road then surely the intended M PS2s on there will be best won't they? Falken 452's get some good reviews too.

The OP wants some winter tyres, hence not "everyday use".

er, wider winter tyres?? are you planning on driving in DEEP snow???

Generally a winter tyre will be narrower than the std summer tyre, enabling it to produce more surface pressure and "cut down" to the road surface, clearing snow/slush etc out of the way.
