Hi all

Setting the alarm sometimes the indicators flash when arming and sometimes they don't. Do not think I'm doing anything different. Also some of the time it wil start beeping with the indicators flashing (as in title) for no apparent reason.
Any pointers?

Cheers, Tim

Check the bonnet switch, pretty common fault.

Alarm would have a habit of going off for no reason at all with increased regularity shortly after I purchased mine (myself & neighbours not amused hehe). Changed the bonnet switch though and its been good as gold ever since. As a test you can carry out, just un-plug the bonnet switch and if it cures your problem then you know you've found the prob.

I think I remember reading at the time the design has changed from the original as its a common prob. Only about £12 from the stealers so nice easy fix as well smile

Yep, had the same problem with my E46. Replaced it --> problem solved.

Just so you know, that beeping IS the alarm wink

Rubbish, isn't it..

If you have SMG and the gear indicator sometimes flashes, that's another symptom of the bonnet switch going.
