Strange 'target' mark on E46 sat nav

[Vroomer]

From time to time I come across locations that have a grey 'target' mark – a grey circle with a grey dot inside.

Can anyone explain what these are?

I always wondered that too.

This icon shows locations that the GPS will direct you to if you do not specify an exact address. Depending on the way an inexact target is specified, GPS will lead you to one of the following:

- center of the town (typically a town/city hall)
- geographical center of the county, or
- geographical center of the zip code

Thanks Rassi.
