E46 320Cd run on RME instead of derv

Does anyone know if this engine (156ps variant, 06 plate so post facelift) can use rapeseed methyl ester fuel? (refined & processed cooking oil ). I know it cannot run on pure cooking oil like some VAG and PSA engines, but neither can VAG PD engines and they can run on RME. I believe it's mainly a fuel pump wear issue that needs to be checked on most cars?

Started a new job with bigger miles and have discovered a station selling this near my flat at a considerable saving over regular derv.
