My trusty 530 needs new boots at the rear. It currently has Conti Sport Contact 2's with which I've never really had any problems with. Perhaps a little noisy but not too bad.

What's be best option - replace like with like or go for something different? I've always liked Toyo Proxes T1R's (I'm a sucker for a funky tread pattern laugh) and it looks like Camskill have them in stock in 255/40/17.

Any other suggestions before I take the plunge?

Contisport Contact 3's on my 530i. Potenza RE050's on the 525i.

CS3 > RE050.

I liked Goodyear F1 GSD3s on my old 540i - but they did tramline a bit when worn, and they've been replaced by the Assymetrics now which I haven't tried. Usually cheaper than Contis or Michelins, though.

Michelin Primacy HP. Chosen entirely for improved ride and reduced noise over Continentals.

I've got Vredestein ultracs on mine (16") and for a cheaper alternative to the premium premiums already mentioned I'm very pleased. Living in (permanently wet) Wales I really wanted something good in the wet and they seem to do well (changed them as soon as i bought the car so don't have anything to compare them too).

Conti Contacts 2 here - standard fitment.
It's not like my 525's ever going to be a hooning weapon so I've stuck with what the factory recommended 10 years ago when it was new. I suppose technology may've moved on but for my use they're fine for daily use come snow, rain or sun.

Well, true to form - I ignored everything that everyone said and went for the T1-R's laugh

Although, I have to admit that was because it was all that was in stock at my local tyre place. Pretty good value at £120 each, all-in though.

And dey 'as got a well wikid tread pattern, innit laugh
